The Chimaera
The chimera (sometimes called a chimaera) is a powerful, violent beast, often tan-brown in colour, though with different shades. Its body is of three elements: lion, dragon and goat. Chimeras also have cloven hooves, like most mythological equine-esque do. The creature's element is most commonly fire; there has yet to be a chimera with powers of earth, air, or water.
-----
The chimera is a large creature, taller than a unicorn or other equine creature by far. Its body is three different creatures, and all have heads. Its right side is that of a goat, with the head ram-like. The middle is a lion, the main portion of the body, which also provides the creature's four huge, tree-trunk legs and clawed paws (rarely, the legs are equine-like, and in some cases the lion is actually a fanged horse). The left side is scaled, and is dragon, which provides a tail which is a snake. These head are all capable of breathing fire, which is produced by a gland in all of the creatures' seperate throats. Though terrifying and pretty masculine, many chimeras are female, as was the first, which was slain by Belleropheron.
The only known way to equines to slay a chimera is with their elemental powers; strangling it with vines, sticking it in a hurricane, drowning it, or burning it alive. Though, the first ever chimera was slain with lead, which was melted in the creature's throat and killed the beast. Though, this wasn't the end of the monsterous creature, who'd terrorized villages for ages. Another male chimera had mated the female, and she'd had eggs, which the male was guarding when she'd been slain. When the villagers arrived to the cave of the eggs, the eggs hatched and the hatchlings managed to get out alive. They reproduced with others, and soon, the race returned and thrived in the shadows, now aware not to be seen by human life. Though, that doesn't stop them from slaying equines...

ooc: please note that i made up all of the story after the chimera was slain with lead; i added that so there is a reason why they're in equinopia now, and not extinct.
