Still partially asleep, the ancient brute opened flickering lashes to reveal strange eyes. They were of the lightest blue, but within them swirled pale-white mist. All in all they resembled the sky that he flew in. A yawn erupted from his clenched muzzle, echoing out to the land beyond. The tree above him shook slightly with the strain of the noise, sending fluttering leaves down to land on his stilled form. The unmistakable scent of pine drifted to his nares, and he inhaled deeply, sending a lingering glance to the pine tree that had startled him with its scent. Hermes lifted a beautifully sculpted cranium, and his kissers puckered, sending a calm mixture of breath and air towards the tree. As he blew, air circled the pine, until it was still as a statue again, and not disturbed by Hermes' presence. And so the mystical beast rose, as collected and calm as his Element. Stilts drifted lazily forwards, bodice huge and muscular as he moved, His structure was layered with a golden pelt that shimmered as he moved, showing the artistic muscles that rippled beneath. He had penetrating black socks, that matched his even black mane and tail, and glistening white wings with a slight golden tinge. All in all Hermes was a beauty- and as the messenger god of air that came as a normality. The sky was a mixture of pinks and golds, and the mist swirled around him, joyful that he had woken. He greeted the sky with a majestic grin, and the winged pegasi rose of his feet with as little effort as a bird. The pine tree was far away now, but still clear in the distance, and he gave it a brief wave of his hoof before floating upwards into the painted yonder. Birds cawed and flew towards him, ruffling their feathers and nuzzling him affectionately before flying away once more. He was king of air- king of the skies. Everyone that flew both loved and feared him. In the sky he was free and extremely happy. The pegasi let out a joyful whinny, and still air born, he plunged downwards, regaining his feet as they collided with ground at breakneck speed. He then began to gallop, faster and faster, until he was sure he could run no more... But still he pushed on, urging his body to move as fast as it could. He was well rested, and his breath came steady and slow, chest heaving gently. Finally, he reached his destination. He got to the end of a cliff face, grey and pale. Sliding to a halt he looked skyward, glimpsing a colorful rainbow above. He began the ascend towards it, flying again, and clouds brushed past his face, wet and so cold you could swear they were solid. He was so close to the rainbow, he could swear it, but then it seemed to drift further away again, just out of reach. He had tried to catch it for years, but still it floated away. He cursed, but this was only normal to him, so he thrust his body weight forward suddenly, so it faced the green earth below. He then plunged downwards, wings flat and un-used against his body. A cry emitted from his lips as his form brushed past the cliff face, and then he was falling downwards, heading towards the rushing sea below. Just as he was about to hit the surface, his wings opened, and he fell slowly once more, landing on the sea like a Hawk. Hermes dived down underwater, then emerged a few meters off, wings wet and heavy with liquid. Beating them slightly, he landed on the shore with effort, before rolling on his stomach and waggling his legs around joyfully. It had been a while since anyone had payed him a visit. His fellow gods had been busy, and he was lonely. He had the nature, but it was not the same. What he wished for most of all was for people to join his herd. It was his territory until he found someone brave enough to lead it, and until that time came he would have to stay put. Watching. Waiting. Word Count: 697

APOLLO the club can't even handle me right now[/center] The gods were as good as mortals at the moment. To his recalling, none of the gods had associated with a subject yet. Apollo couldn't help but feel a little frustrated. Did the gods and goddesses of the world live for a thousand years just to rule a ghost town? No. His wither shuddered as a blowfly landed on it and he tossed his ivory tassels to and fro. Autumn had arrived, that was for sure. He entertained himself by watching the burnished leaves sprinkle down upon the ground. They crunched underneath Apollo's slate daggers. He didn't bother to stay quiet; he wasn't a trespasser, but a friend. The air element was hard to master without full attention. He could weakly blow around wind, but that was it. He did admire the power of wind and air, but he found his element superior among others; the power of fire and heat. He was a expert- he could start wildfires with a flick of his banner, he could lift the temperature to sweltering with a lift of his foreleg. He was destined for fire since he was born. He wasn't sure if Hermes had found any equines to reside in his domain. Apollo had not yet found any with the element of fire. The palomino brute was restraining himself not to enlight any of the trees around him. Frustration flared up not only his temper but his element. In his kingdom, there was not much things for fire to spread: there was hardly any vegetation except for the roses, which were not easily caught fire. His thoughts were interrupted by a swooping figure. A brown and black blob was speeding towards him, and at once Apollo saw it was Hermes himself. A good natured whinny escaped from his chest as he danced to the side, dodging the barrel of his friend. The pegasi landed a few metres away and the golden stag broke into a canter to reach him. Hermes! My good friend! His tone was light, but there was a baritone within it that added a tonge of masculine to it. Long time no see.

Patuxent Wind Patuxent Wind ruffled her delicate feathers as she awoke, opening her blue orbs. She stood, careful not to pull out one of her many cream or blue feathers form her monstrous wings. The glowing morning sun reflected off her white body, making Patuxent almost blinding to the eye. Today something magical could happen. The Fae could feel it it her gut. Being in a good state of mind, patuxent decided to flex her wings a bit, a short morning flight would do. She skys were clear, a perfect day for a pegasi to take to the air. A few birds flew with their families while butterflies danced closer to the ground. Yes, the day was already magical. Patuxent propelled herself into the air with ease. Wind swirled around her hooves as the started to fly, great wings of strength gliding her forward. The mare tipped her head to the sun, letting out a genital nicker, full of warmth and pleasure. Three blue-jays soon found their way to the Fae's side, giving her great company and joyful songs. Besides any other equines, birds were Patuxent's best friends, always seeing to lift he out of depression and once again even out her equilibrium. Then a smell nipped at the mares muzzle. Stallions. Sensing their company below her, Patuxent folded her wings and let her body plumage to-wards the earth. Air whipped through the her mane, sending it flying it in all different directions. At the that moment, Patuxent extended her wings, making for a smooth landing. Pulling herself up tall she looked from stallion to stallion. Both of the studs towered over her 16 hand frame. Where they possibly two of the gods? Hello. I am Patuxent Wind.Spoke the mare bowing her cranium.

Dirt and grass cascaded down his bodice as he rolled joyfully, eyes flaming bright and lips curled into a smile. After a while he flashed up to his feet again, standing from his lay position in little more than a second. Hermes shook himself thoroughly, shreds of earth pushing off his body and floating downwards slowly. To speed things up a bit he flapped his wings, beating them slowly but harshly so it was just enough to push the dirt off, but not enough to float him off his feet.
Hermes was finished by the time he heard hooves pulsating the land of his realm, and he whinnied softly to the intruder, just to let them know that he was here. A slight tone of dominance lingered in his voice, but he held it back slightly, in-case it was just an old friend such as Apollo, Zeus, or another of the gods come to visit. It turned out that is actually was Apollo, and Hermes was both surprised and amused at the Palomino figure that came galloping down towards him.
Apollo! He answered his friend in a series of whinnies and cries, rushing to him with an exuberant smile on his features. No, it has been far too long. May I be too bold as to ask if anyone has joined your herd yet? He knew of the problem that the gods had had- attracting members had been a more difficult task than imagined, but he guessed time was the solution. He himself had yet to acquire any members at all, and he was getting lonely on his own. It was great to know he had not been forgotten, and Apollo was a friend that knew how to cheer you up.
He was waiting patiently for Apollo to answer when the scent and sound of yet another visitor came to his cranium, and he grinned widely. Another visitor? It had to be too good to be true. But sure enough he soon saw a female come into view, and he greeted her with a brief nod of the head. He knew as soon as he saw her that she was of the Element of air, and it gladdened him to know that even her name was that of an air-creature. Hello my dear! Have you come to join? I am Hermes, god of air, and this is my good friend Apollo, god of fire and sun.
