The Water Master ; Poseidon The land of Equinopia was cool and quiet, a small cloud of mist lingering about, leaving the grass in its path dewy and moist. Though the burning orb, given the name 'Sun,' had barely begun its daily routine of rising, the pools of lily pads were already glistening with radiance. The trees about the area seemed to strain themselves toward the sun's warm rays, as did the grass, and the creatures of the morning, which had risen only moments previous. Deer rubbed on trees and grazed on the succulent grass; foxes and wolves trotted out of their dens. The birds were the first voices, though, filling the early morning air with beautiful songs full of sorrow and beauty. Yet, the only creature large enough to cause panic was harmless. It glided along the pond's glassy surface like a porcelain figure, majestic neck arched, head examining the beauty of its reflection. The swan, as it was know, seemed to have nothing but the heat of the upcoming afternoon to fear. But, the bird had yet to notice that terror isn't always from above. The first sign of danger the waterfowl failed to realize was the subtle, gentle ripples of water in the otherwise completely still pool. The movements were in opposite sync than the bird's, so if it had noticed, it would have evacuated. The second sign, which was also unrealized by the swan, was the fading and returning heat on its webbed feet. But, the creature still didn't budge, until the moment was out of reach to do so. A long, slimy, snake-like tail shot from the water's surface, curling around the swam's body, quite like a constrictor would. The bird let out honks and squeaks as it was drug under, yet no creature was there to answer. Unlike the horses, the animals didn't know of the kelpies in this area, which lurked in the pools in hopes of recieving a good-sized meal. As the bird was pulled under, the large frame of a horse fell upon it, forcing the bird deeper into the water, forcing it to take great gulps of water. It had become the millionth victim of a kelpie, but not just any kelpie: the master of water, the keeper of the kelpies...Poseidon. There was no certain reason why Poseidon had ventured from his jungle home, full of lush and dumb creatures to eat, and come here to eat. Perhaps he wanted to survey his herds. Perhaps to take a walk. Or, perhaps, he held a certain fondness for swan. When the bird's lungs were full of water, like two balloons, Poseidon gripped the fowl between his sharpened teeth and placed it upon the shore, climbing up behind it. As his hind legs emerged from the water, his "tail" split into two, each half becoming a powerful hind leg belonging to a horse. The horse the half-fish creature became looked to be of a Friesian build, though he was much taller, and his coat an intricate Appaloosa colour of greys, blacks and whites. His eyes were much more to be looked at: they were the white-blue of ocean froth, yet a slightly darker blue mapped over them like the water's reflection on a glass surface. Gently, as if the bird may break, the kelpie known as Poseidon nudged it, then brutally stabbed his teeth into it. Peeling away at the feathers, flesh and bone, he emerged from the corpse with the lungs, which were weighed down with water. Setting them aside, the beast tore the bird into managable pieces, before consuming the body piece by piece, and finishing the meal with the lungs: they were meaty and filled with water, and was like wine with an edible glass. Once he'd finished, the kelpie retreated into the water, washing himself from head to tail (literally), in his kelpie form. It is true that kelpies do love to devour humans, but humans were a rare occurance here, and no horse would dare travel outside of Equinopia. Besides, the ones who did make it to Equinopia were swiftly done away with: either by getting eaten by Death Creatures or Kelpies, or killed by unicorns, pegasi, or sleipni. Zeus often got mad, then, only because he wanted to study them. Poseidon, though he wanted to eat the humans himself, was glad when they were gone: they often had shiny objects in their scooped water-mobiles, and Poseidon as quite fond of shiny things. Once the blood was gone and his throat was soothed, Poseidon climbed to the land, to graze under the cherry-blossom trees. Of the ponds in the area, Poseidon's was the most beautiful: it was surrounded by lush grass, with an underwater cave for eating in peace. Trees were plentiful around it, fish in the pond were readily avalible for if horses were away, and a small waterfall kept the water circulating. Poseidon, though he loved meat, also loved waterweeds and grass, so now he grazed. It was almost like dessert for him, but healthier. So, in the early morning cool, the great speckled god grazed, looking more like a commoner than the bloodthirsty beast he was moments ago. ------------------------------ words ; 807 thoughts/ooc ; this is one of my better posts. anywhoo, if it isn't clear on what the land-Poseidon looks like, he is basically a very tall horse (18.0hh) with a build somewhat like a friesian x andalusian. his body is like his front end, save for the fact his mane/tail become the same black/grey of his lower legs. his whole body, on land, is the cool grey/white/blackish appaloosa colouring, and his mane and tail are just below a medium length. and, like in the picture, he has a worn-looking horn (on land and in the water).

Artemis; Master of Earth Tinted rays pierced the dense undergrowth of the forest as a silver wolf made its way through the mist that Had been created overnight. The birds had begun singing their intricate songs of the morning, deer began making their way into the protected forest rather than the open woods. Foxes hunted mice while the overlay of mist still gave them cover, insects would soon begin their annoying cheers of spring. The large canine made its way into a clearing where sparse undergrowth met the bank of the ponds. This was the peaceful yet treacherous territory of the water horse, better known as the kelpie. The breed was often insidious, louring their prey to them with their intriguing looks and adhesive skin. Although some preferred not to play the game of predator and prey the fair way, rather use their skin like a reptile, catching prey right from the bank, while it was off guard. As the canine lowered its head to drink under the cherry blossom trees, a young equine leapt from the depths. Sadly, the inexperienced equine had poorly misjudged its opponent. The canine's eyes began to glow green and white as its lips curled up in a snarl. Horns began protruding out of its skull like a vine, while bones twisted and contorted, beginning to grow at almost lightning speed. Before the young kelpie could grasp canine flesh, a silver coated equine stood before him, twelve foot pointed antlers protruding out of an elegant arabian crown, orbs still glowing a shade emerald green. By now, the poor young kelpie is desperately confused. Mumbling lyrics of which are not appropriate to repeat. The antlered femme soon began to speak. "Young one, you must learn to play the game fair, for you have misjudged your breakfast, and now your stomach will be empty" she murmured before picking him up in her antlers and hurling his bodice back to the depths. Turning on her muscled haunches, she continued on down the bank, slowly picking her way through the mud. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks. A splash was heard not too far away from her, before the shriek of a swans panicked voice pierced her skull. A muscled equine pulled himself out of the water soon after, emerald tail turning into legs. In his kissers he grasped the swan, crimson leaking from its mutilated bodice. He continued to consume it before entering the water again, soon after exiting once more. Kissers let out a stern voice that was not expected to be heard from a arabian built femme. "Poseidon. You really need to train some of your colts and fillies better. And could you not eat a swan that took 10 hours to make right in front of a lady? Learn some etiquette. Anyway, I'm just coming to tell you the next council meeting is in two suns. Be ready for Hades babbling once more." ____________________ Words; 486 >.< Muse; Hardly any. sorreh Comments; incase anyone was wondering, yes, artemis can change into a wolf if she feels the need. she can also turn into a white deer. As the great beast of a kelpie grazed, the mist swirled about him, masking his large, dappled-Appaloosa frame amongst the blossoms and wildlife. In his haste of appearing common, he failed to notice the canine creature stalking through the evening cool. The lithe little pup had lowered its jaws, and had already fulfilled its thirst, by the time the brute had even let his attention wander. There was a great ruckus of water as the stallion heaved his head up from the grass, eyes scanning the area for a single form in the many pools. But, by the time the kelpie had caught sight of the young, inexperienced, water-dwelling equine, the wolf was already long gone. Poseidon smirked. He already knew who was in his midst, if only by the feminine scent of flowers and damp ground lingering about, and the sudden disappearance of a certain snow white canine. Though they hadn't met each other in many moons, ever since they all got their own lands, Poseidon could have called the minx by name... Artemis. The great beast turned his masculine cranium, eyes searching the mist until they fell upon a flicker of silver in the dampness of the morning fog. That small sight of her made his heart thunder like a waterfall in his muscled chest; though it had been eons, he still held a warmth for her in his small crevice where a heart resided. It had almost been like a high-school crush: it had only been days after the mare was created, but Poseidon followed her in the shadows of the lakes and streams. Whenever she drank, he was gazing up at her from the depths, forever stranded from her touch. He knew she was probably aware of his love back then, and simply allowed the colt to trail in her wake like one of the lost puppies that are often attracted to her. Finally, after a few moments of lingering, Artemis decided to reveal herself. Her delicate Arabian bodice was presented before him, her delicate cranium crowned with antlers of a deep, gorgeous silver ivory. Her eyes seemed to dance with the colours of the fall leaves, her scent overwhelming him with the earthly smells of pine, dirt, and bark. Poseidon chuckled despite the fae's warning of meeting his brother. Artemis' voice was always deep and commanding, which made the kelpie smirk often. She made him feel alive. He would have long ago confessed his love to her, if it were not for her brother. Apollo was always being over-protective of his "baby sister," always making sure she stayed well away from Poseidon. Yet, he was subtle with his guarding of her, and she had yet to know. Hopefully, that big brother of hers wouldn't make an appearance. "Dear Artemis, if it were my job to train those young kelpies...well, to be honest, I'd probably abandon them. But it is not my job to watch their upbringing; some kelpies are just terrible at parenting." Poseidon's voice was full of good humor, eyes dancing over Artemis' chiseled cranium, and her beautiful optics. "Artemis, I need my meat just as you need your pasture. And I am sorry that it happened to be a swan; next time it shall be some other element's equine." 'Yes, another element's equine...like a sleipni.' Though he'd never say it, Poseidon did mean it. He hated Apollo with a passion. "As for Hades' babbling, he could go on and on and I personally wouldn't give a damnn." Eyes scanning Artemis' for a moment, Poseidon lowered his cranium, taking a bite of grass and raising his head to his chat-mate's. "So, what is new in the realms of the Earth element?"------------------------------ words ; 614 thoughts/ooc ; aww, poseidon + arty <3

Artemis Crown high, she listened to the stud utter his words. Long simple words formed out of his kissers. His bodice stood under a beautiful cherry blossom she had made years ago from a beautiful little seed. Its flowers bloomed a beautiful pink color, one that took much energy on her part to create, but the outcome still amazed her. Look under the tree, her optics scanned over the stud's massive bodice, beautifully dappled with the darkest of ebony spots. This stud, he called himself Poseidon, the femmora had known all her existence. From the moment she began to explore and create, He wasn't far behind. She had always loved the way his voice flowed up and down like that of his element, but she had never liked when he killed another being. No other on the entire earth knew how she felt when one's spirit passed on. Screams racked her head for help, to be spared, to pass on to the fields, at least. If the being was elaborate and hard to create, she would often become weak for a moment or two before regaining her strength. This was why she hated creating carnivores, but it had to be done. Even if she disregarded his vulgar ways, she knew he must eat. To be rightfully honest, she was glad to see him. She had been unable to see him for eons under her brothers protective 'wing'. Artemis quite honestly hated it, but loved her brother. She had what you would call a bit of a fiery personality, never letting anyone get away with anything. She loved to be in control of a situation, but only really herself and her twin knew this. She tended to a illusive, white equine that dwelled in a beautiful, emerald expanse to most others. Quite honestly, she was when she was alone. Quiet, silent, powerful, calm. Her antlers where the softest ivory, of which many colored strands hung from time to time. Most of the time she left them in, though. Apollo had been away courting his newest femme, so she had the morning to do whatever the hell she pleased without being battered with his protective words. He ruled his element, she ruled hers. She was sick of being called the "virgin goddess" which was a nickname that came to existence by her brother when then were much younger. Artemis had not shown much interest in stud's or their ways, so Apollo began to tease, and the vulgar named stuck. Staring at Poseidon through her forest-like optics, she responded. "Then teach them to be better parents. Young ones should learn. And things are just fine, i suppose. Nightmares still roam free, and have taken to the forest. I have been pushing them out since. Hades needs to control his ugly beasts." a bit of annoyance in her voice, she continued. " How go things in the aqua element? Haven't heard from you in eons" Lithe limbs moved forward a bit as her crown moved toward the ground, allowing her kissers to grab the beautiful, lovely emerald grass that blanketed this domain as she awaited a response. Poseidon sighed at Artemis, blue-grey optics rolling in her direction. "My equines, sweet Artemis, are not of your antlaquin's and unicorn's natures. We are all solitary. As soon as a foal is old enough to hunt for itself, the parents practically abandon it. With the Death equines slaughtering all of our food sources, kelpies are competing with their own kin for food and nourishment; besides, they learn quickly enough." Quietly, Poseidon motioned toward the young kelpie, who'd recovered from the Earth Queen's harsh toss. As a young fawn stumbled toward the water's surface, the colt's eyes rose above the surface, before he sprung from the glassy surface like a cobra. Forelegs flashing out, the adhesive surface of the kelpie's flesh caught the fawn off-guard. The fawn's ramblings didn't go unnoticed as it was hauled under the water's surface, but the nearby herd could simply watch and stampede away; they knew of the beast which had taken their kin, and they were not about to bargain. Turning toward Artemis once more, witha smug grin upon his facade, Poseidon dipped his kissers to the earth's tendrils, lips curving the emerald strands before a harsh yank tugged them free of the dewey lithosphere. Chewing silently, the kelpie eyed Artemis, whose silvery coat shone with brilliance in the rising sun. The day was still cold, and the great beast knew the day wouldn't warm to a comfortable temperature. Yet, instead of fretting the day, Poseidon turned his attention to the fae's question. "Well, I'm simply glad no one tries to visit my lagoon cavern. Kelpies are taking to the land, before the freeze, into whatever crevices they can find. That does upset the pegasi, though; in years past, a few of Hermes' dear bird-brains have been incidentally disturbed and devoured by my nesting kelpies." It was odd, yes, but true: in the winter months, kelpies stay in caves near water, making their dens comfortable with layers of seaweed, knick-knacks, and sea-flowers. After the winter's cold reaches leave the lands, they practically fly to the water, after hibernating in the dry solitude of their nests. Their flesh comes alive with colour after greeting their watery element, and the males come into season: their fins brighten into the shades of the rainbow, they sparkle like dew. Then, it is time to dance. Typically, females do the dancing. The kelpie femmes dance under the water's surface, shining and sparkling, twirling and flowing, sending fountains of water into the air with their elemental powers hard at work. It's all to impress the males, to lure them in, to create new life. Poseidon was always a large target for these femmes, though they did little to sway him; of course, their beauty was undeniable, and many were as wise as a grand oak tree, but they were still his children. But, the ghostly maiden soon drew Poseidon back to earth. Artemis grazed nearby, and Poseidon felt the urge to do something unimagineable, a motive never thought of by a blood-thirsty kelpie: he wanted to touch the Earth Queen. He wanted to skim her bodice with his own, rest his own cranium against hers, lay side-by-side in a meadow and rest for hours. Yet, Poseidon knew such feats were out of the question. If he were to touch his silver sweet, he would have to slaughter her on the spot. And, even if she had a deathwish, Poseidon could never bring himself to kill her. Taking another mouthful of dampened grass, Poseidon erased his mind of his foolish thoughts. "And how are you fairing against the other elements, my dear Artemis?" ------------------------------ words ; 599 thoughts/ooc ; poor poseidon. D:

as the fae's grey kissers pulled upon the emerald tressels, she listened to the stallion speak. True, her antlaquin where very herd oriented, but her unicorn where bred to be illusive, magical creatures of night, often solitary. Both her lovely breeds mirrored the fae in some way. The unicorn, a often white, illusive creature that dwelled under a dense canopy of green. The antlaquin, who resembled her after she had been created. Beautiful, sociable, uncanny in looks, But not build for harsh winters.
Winter around the land was harsh and unforgiving. Icey drafts often blew in from the northern ice caverns, created by herself and poseidon. Usually he would blow up the water to the sky, hermes would freeze it and she was left to carry it around. Artemis was never one to watch something innocent suffer, so she would often become very angry in the winter, watching what she loved become barren, icey wastes. Her emerald woods would go to sleep, her flowers would die and leave their offspring to grow in the spring. The creatures would run away and hibernate to keep their meager and thinning bodies warm. Often, she had no work to keep her busy as well.
It was her 'off season' where she would be free to go to her own emerald cave and spend her days. But the 'off season' was wrong. Winter was just a title for more moon work by her. Work work work work.
She Hated Winter.
In Fact, such peaceful times such as sitting grazing with Poseidon were hard to come across. With the winter preparations and the watching for skulking bad ass abominations known as nightmares, her days were very busy.
"Things are going alright i suppose, though winter prep is not my idea of a good time" she uttered with a slight laughing tone
Suddenly, pain writhed through her,starting at her daggers and rising through her body. Her eyes began to glow a White color, and her mane stood like a mowhawk on a emo kid. Ivory daggers petruded through her skull and extended to almost their full height. Vines lifted from the ground, seeming to form from the grass, envoloping poseidon's pillars. The ground in the cove began to shake slightly as rabbits that had been grazeing on the grass fled. Her kissers then opened to mutter a small sentence of words;
"God. Damn. It"
Then her eyes turned back to their normal emerald color. Her antlers proceded to go back into her chiseled skull, and her mane settled to its usual position. The pain stopped. All seemed well, until she opened her mouth again.
"Gods damn it. CAN'T i have one god damn hour off? ONE GOD DAMN HOUR is all i ask. GODS DAMN IT HADES. your freaking nightmares better watch themselves tonight, for if they enter my forest ONE MORE GODs DAMN TIME."
The Fae then proceded to calm down a bit and returned her gaze to the confused looking stallion standing in front of her. She then killed the vines around his legs and began to speak.
"Sorry about that. I guess i better be going, before i blow up again, and damage is really done"
In a saddened manner, she began to leave the clearing, headed for the dense forest once again.

"Darlings, No Need To Shout."
Oh What A Shock To Zues It would have been if he were looking down upon equinopia this very second, the mere sight of his brother not cowering away in his hell hole would of made him look nerely devious. Though Was It Wrong Of Hades to be in the mood for a simple stroll? Hades thought not, as the large black build carried its way into the large clearing where his fellow sibling stood, beside him was a pretty little minx who was known as the earth queen. Death was Hades specialty, which is probably why the grass in which he stood died after a mere brush of his daggers, but that was besides the point.
Hades pale ebon optics glazed over his brother, noting the odd look upon his features and quickly acknowledging that his darling little brother was filled with love. was it for this lovely minx maybe? or was it because he got to see his darling older brother? The Dark brute chuckled at the thought, who in all heavens name would be happy to see him? and if they were happy what drugs were they on and where could hades get some. Hades mind began to get off track as he allowed his stiff build to move, decay from his lands ate at his right hind leg, leaving bone in its place, yet Hades wasn't afraid of Death, of of infection, for he was immortal. So instead the arrogant Brutus allowed the bacteria to feed awhile, knowing he could grazed at his flesh return as though nothing had ever eaten it away.
With A Sad Grin, The old bat stopped infront of the duo and gave his dear friends a cheeky grin. Now Of Coarse Hades knew he was hated through out the land i mean you'd think with all the good deeds he's done, he'd at least get some credit but no, instead they wanted him to waste away in shitty lands they had given him to rule, which is why Hades had know choice but to create equines, such as the Toxic, Damned, Nightmares. Oh What Fun It was. And Hades Still was Fooling With breeds. But Anyways With a Small Smile and A Wink To Artemis Hades Allowed his vile kissers to peel open.
"Long Time No See, Miss Me?"

|| | Poseidon | | | ~-~ Poseidon raised an eyebrow as Artemis flew into a rage, snow tossed in fluffs of white as the vines enveloped his own muscled pillars. It was quite an odd sight to see Artemis - the known epitome of kindness, virgin behaviour, and innocence - to be in such an angered state. He sighed, but grinned, his fanged teeth bared for the world to see. "Artemis, my dear, please calm yourself." Poseidon looked down to the vines around his feet; with a simple touch of his worn-looking horn, they turned to ice, and shattered to the ground in a chime like breaking glass. He stepped toward the goddess, cloven hooves crunching in the fallen snow. "We mustn't blame poor Hades for all of this disaster. I've come to face, in my times alone, that we shouldn't blame the poor old bat...he was dropped on his cranium as a colt, after all." Snickering, Poseidon walked toward the femme, his white-blue eyes searching hers for the warmth he needed. "Artemis, I understand you feel pain, but come now; blaming is nothing compared to action. We must do something to stop him." Poseidon himself had no problems with the winter, other than Apollo's constant ranting on the temperature and his watery home becoming a frozen abyss. All that was needed of him was to scatter water throughout the skies, with the help of Hermes; although, he had a different effect to the snow. His eyes, which resembled his own element, turned into a 'blind' blue-white, and their surfaces no longer shimmered like the surface of the water he controlled. They held, instead, and icyness: like if one were to attack him, his eyes would shatter and fall to the lithosphere like little diamond shards. A few clumps of frozen vines stuck to his lightly feathered legs - it was a gift and a curse to have such adhesive skin. Mostly because he could never touch anyone. For a moment, Poseidon looked longingly to Artemis, but shook it off, gently nudging the mare with his horn to encourage her from leaving. "Don't leave, Artemis. The next time we meet will either be around Hades or it will be interupted by that pesky brother of yours." Poseidon caught his scent much earlier before he had emerged in the large, meadow-like clearing. He smelt like the copperiness of blood; the brimstone of his damned lands; the screams, cries, broken bones and sweat of the tortured and dying. As he approached the pair, the beast hissed, which was farily easily considering his serpintine-like water alter-ego. That fact - that he could be so snake-like - made him angry; if he feared anything, it was becoming evil. Poseidon was the 'little brother'; Zeus came first, then Hades. Sadly, though, Poseidon was probably the most level-headed of the three. Although, most times, his anger did get the best of him. Like now. "Speak of the devil," He hissed through clenched jaws, legs spread wide as if to shelter Artemis from his older brother. He held his head close to his body, horn pointed toward Hades' cranium with deadly acuracy. "Unlike your dearest little...creatures, we don't miss you." Poseidon had always hated Hades; not only after he'd found out his brother's intentions, but also after Hades had tried pursuing Artemis. It had only been a week or two, sure, but it still made the brute angry. "Tell me, Hades, what does the God Of Death do when someone kills him?" Poseidon knew Hades, like the other gods, were immortal; but being able to kill him was a lulling thought. ~-~
