The cave was cool, yet warmer than the outside world. Its insides were consumed by darkness, except for the front, where violet moon beams struck the surface. A lone white coyote howled in the distance, swallowed by the swirling snowstorm. Water flowed from the top of the cave in droplets, forming in a small puddle beneath on the stone surface. The Fae's ebony and white pelt seemed to dimly glow in the darkness, illuminated by the rising moon.
She stared out over the barren landscape, searching, waiting. A long dead bush blew across the frozen desert, a lion prowled in lush pine trees. It had only been a few weeks since she and Dakota had been attacked by a lion such as this one. During this time, she had learned the bleached stallions name, and that it must be a horrible crime to let it flow through ones lips. He had sounded like a powerful leader that day, hissing right back to the vulgar beast that had tried to attack. They soon began to back away from the creature, and when they were far enough they picked up into a flowing canter. He then guided her toward this cave, where she had remained for days.
These last weeks had been both joyful and confusing for the fae. She had escaped her dying father, along with her whole past life. She had came to the rich new lands, and during a rain shower, she had come across a chestnut bodice, soaked by the downpour. They soon moved to this land, in joyous journey. Now she remained here, a frozen hill surrounded by a equally frozen desert.
Emotion swirled around her skull. A distant bodice seemed to glide over the landscape threw the storm, but it was probably just her mind toying with her. Turning back into the darkness, she hung her beautiful crown. Her long ivory forelock flowed down over her eyes, as her 15hh bodice silently glided over to the iced puddle near the back of the cave. Her long pillar extended outward and down, ivory daggers breaking the ice with ease, allowing her to drink its contents.
Her daggers made a soft nose as she moved back toward the front of the cave. The once powered land was now a icey wasteland, one could make many fatal mistakes. The lone coyote was now silent, and the only sound that struck the land was the soft moan of the blowing wind. That's when the world turned black, and everything spun around her. The cave seemed to be crashing down as fast as she was. then her world was truly silent, not even the wind was to pierce her auds. And standing before her was the beast that had attacked... another atrocious panther, grinning in the faded light.
Looking up, she became infuriated. She let out a furious scream, and got to her feet. She easily took out the first with a well placed aim to the head, spinning on her hindquarters and propelling her pillars toward the entrance. Once there, the saw about 5 more hungry lions. joy, she was surrounded. She turned, aiming for ones head to clear a way to run, but the next jumped on her back. Her eyes turning a crimson color, she stood still, looking back at the feline. It was confused at why she had stopped. Now She leaped upwards, the cat flying off her back, while hitting another that had come to close. 2 winded, 3 to go. She didn't know if she cloud handle it, but she had to, or she would die before ever seeing her stud again.
Leaping over the lions heads, she tucked her pillars close her body so the beasts could not hold on. She soared over them, landing lightly on the other side. Then she bolted, her pillars moving faster and faster underneath her bleeding bodice. The cloud wind blew in her face, also blowing her long mane, making it fly along with her. She then stopped, aware that someone, or something was watching her from the brutal pine trees. Perking her auds, she examined the trees, trying to hear what it was.
